    Business Development Manager Europe (m/f)
    to be located at our office in the Greater Area of Köln/Krefeld OR with Home-Office possibilities


    Your Challenge:
    This role reports to the Managing Director of UL’s Prospector business and is responsible for developing & implementing a sustainable growth and expansion strategy for Prospector in the EU plastics market. The successful candidate will also leverage plastics marketplace relationships to sell Prospector offerings/services.

     

    Responsible things you get to do:

    • engage value-chain stakeholders & decision-makers to understand plastics market challenges & opportunities
    • create short & long-term EU plastics strategy for UL Prospector
    • collaborate with Prospector business, sales and marketing leaders to finalize strategy & go-2-market plans and budget targets.
    • understand the UL Prospector business model and platform for context in defining services/offerings [derivative & new] required for success in the EU plastics marketplace.
    • Leverage plastics marketplace relationships to sell Prospector services & offerings
    • meet personal sales targets.
    • Support European sales team as subject matter expert for Plastics industry
    • Act as the in-house Prospector expert for the EU plastics marketplace.
    • Extend collaborative efforts to include other UL divisions/businesses that serve the plastics industry, or specify requirements for plastics use in end products.


    We are looking for:

    • 3-5 years plastics market experience in marketing & sales is preferred.
    • technical, regulatory & stewardship backgrounds with suitable commercial experience will also be considered.
    • knowledge of seller/buyer information requirements across the EU plastics value chain & how information is used by stakeholders.
    • working knowledge of marketing/sales channels & tactics for plastics ingredients, additives and resins.
    • General business acumen to support business model canvas, business case development and ROI modeling.
    • proven ability to lead & influence cross-functional teams.
    • Solid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements is a plus.
