We are looking for an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist for our German sites
Our new colleague will be responsible for maintaining UL’s internal EHS policies and for driving the EHS message to our sites in Germany. You will work in conjunction with our external safety consultant to ensure that our German sites meet the required expectations, both from a UL point of view as well as all legal requirements. You will be expected to review EHS operations at sites, and assist site leadership and site safety personnel in ensuring that UL maintains the highest standards possible. You will also be responsible for ensuring that the EHS programmes already in place are correctly implemented and maintained.
This position would ideally suit an ambitious candidate with 5 -10 years of experience, with good opportunities for further development of the role.
The role will be based in Neu-Isenburg (Zeppelinheim) just outside Frankfurt on Main and is an expansion of UL’s already robust EHS infrastructure.
Approximately 25% of the role will entail travelling to various sites throughout Germany. At a later stage, the role may be expanded to a more regional one that includes neighbouring countries, thus a third language would be an additional advantage.
Fluency in English and German is a pre-requisite. A university education is preferred but applicants with other suitable qualifications and experience may also be considered.
A good understanding of health and safety processes is essential. In additional, because UL is a global company with multiple nationalities, awareness of cultural and social differences and an understanding of how to integrate these into EHS, would help the successful applicant to fit into the position better.
We expect you to proactively and continuously grow your knowledge of products and our services and that you have a high sense of responsibility and commitment along with the ability to work independently – experience working in a matrix organization is an advantage.
